Her dynamic leadership and expertise is evident in executive development, growth strategy, and driving measurable business outcomes. She excels at guiding emerging executives to that pivotal next step in their careers. Beyond her consultancy, LaVasha serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of California, Irvine. There, she teaches program management to global professionals and played a key role in creating UCI’s first online course for risk management in event planning. 

LaVasha holds a master’s in education and human resources development from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from the University of Central Florida. She holds a certificate in executive compensation from Wharton’s Executive Education program, which explores the complexities of attracting and retaining sought after leaders in today’s evolving business environment. LaVasha will complete her Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California in 2026. 

LaVasha Cain-Lobbins founded Own You Leadership with the mission of helping organizational leaders find their voice and lead with authenticity. She has been building strong teams and championing transformative programs for more than 18 years in the higher education, healthcare, medtech, and nonprofit sectors. 

LaVasha is renowned for her transparent communication style and her ability to help emerging executives gain crucial self-awareness. She partners with organizations to cultivate a diverse pipeline of “succession-plan ready” leaders, ensuring long-term success and innovation.
